Viewing & Booking Policy

Gadget Trade allows buyers to request an in-person viewing of eligible listings before deciding whether to purchase. A viewing request is an appointment request, not a purchase order or a guarantee that a transaction will take place.

How a viewing works

Open an eligible product and choose Book a viewing. Select a preferred date and time, choose the appropriate meeting preference, and send the request. The seller or Gadget Trade may confirm, decline, or request a different time. Your booking status is available in your bookings area.

No payment is required to request a viewing

A viewing request is designed for buyers who want to inspect a gadget before committing to a purchase. Submitting a viewing request does not charge your card and does not reserve the item for you unless a separate arrangement says otherwise.

Meeting and safety expectations

  • Prefer a public, well-lit location where practical and use your judgement about personal safety.
  • Keep important communication inside Gadget Trade and be cautious about requests to move conversations or payments elsewhere.
  • Do not share passwords, authentication codes, card PINs or other sensitive account information during a viewing.
  • For high-value devices, consider bringing a trusted person and allow enough time to inspect the item carefully.

Inspect before you decide

Buyers should check the device condition, model, storage, accessories, network or carrier status where relevant, battery condition where applicable, and any other details that matter to the purchase. Sellers should present the item honestly and disclose material defects they know about. A viewing does not replace the buyer's own inspection or responsibility to make an informed decision.

Changes, cancellations and missed appointments

A requested time is not confirmed until the booking shows as confirmed. If a seller requests another time, review the updated booking before travelling. If you can no longer attend, cancel or contact the other party as soon as reasonably possible. Repeated no-shows, abusive behaviour or misuse of the booking feature may lead to restrictions under Gadget Trade's marketplace policies.

What Gadget Trade does and does not guarantee

Gadget Trade provides the booking feature to help buyers and sellers coordinate a viewing. A confirmed booking does not guarantee the condition, authenticity, availability, ownership, price or suitability of an item. Gadget Trade may review reports and take action under its marketplace, safety and account policies, but buyers and sellers remain responsible for their decisions.
