Sections
1. Transaction protection states
- Standard — ordinary payment and order processing.
- Protected — the order is enrolled in a supported protection workflow.
- Funded — the supported payment state has been confirmed.
- Delivery verified — the required delivery or handoff event has been recorded.
- Disputed — an open dispute has paused normal resolution.
- Released — the supported release condition has been recorded.
- Refunded — the supported refund condition has been recorded.
2. Payment-provider boundary
Gadget Trade separates payment processing from regulated custody and insurance. A transaction is only labelled protected, held or insured when the applicable payment or protection provider and the Gadget Trade transaction workflow have actually confirmed that state. Ordinary payment processing must not be presented as legal escrow.
3. Delivery verification
Where supported, the order records the delivery provider, tracking reference and delivery verification time. Delivery verification records a handoff event; it does not by itself establish that the device is authentic or free of defects.
4. Disputes and release
An open dispute can move the order into a disputed state while evidence is reviewed. Authorised resolution can then record release, refund or another supported outcome. The transaction event history provides an audit trail for the order.
5. Off-platform payments
Payments requested outside the official Gadget Trade order flow may not receive the protections associated with a supported transaction. Users should keep eligible purchases inside the official flow and report payment-redirection attempts.
6. Scope and application
This policy applies to the Gadget Trade marketplace features and transactions to which the policy is relevant. It should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, marketplace safety rules, payment and dispute policies, and any listing-specific information shown at the time of a transaction.
7. Records and evidence
Where a workflow creates order, listing, payment, verification, delivery or communication records, those records may be used to understand what happened and to resolve a support request or dispute. Users should keep relevant receipts, photographs, messages, tracking information and other evidence until the matter is resolved.
8. User responsibility
Users are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping account credentials secure, reviewing important order details before confirming a transaction and promptly reporting material problems through the official Gadget Trade support channels.
9. Policy updates
Gadget Trade may update this policy when marketplace workflows, security requirements, payment processes, delivery arrangements or applicable requirements change. The current version published on Gadget Trade is the version that applies to new activity after publication.
