Marketplace Safety Policy
The core safety rules for Gadget Trade buyers, sellers, listings, communications, payments and product discovery.
01Accurate marketplace information
Listings should give buyers material information in clear, understandable language. Product identity, condition, price, relevant faults, availability and other material facts should not be intentionally misleading.
02Used and refurbished gadgets
Used, second-hand and refurbished products must be described honestly. Sellers should disclose relevant repairs, replacements, significant faults and other facts that could materially affect a buyer’s decision.
03Safe communication
Keep important transaction discussions on Gadget Trade where possible. Never share authentication codes, passwords, card PINs or other payment secrets. Report suspicious links, impersonation, harassment or attempts to move a transaction into an unsafe arrangement.
04Verification and trust signals
Verification, ratings, reviews, seller history and other trust signals help users make better decisions but are not guarantees of authenticity, quality, ownership or transaction success. Users should still inspect products and review the actual transaction terms.
05Prohibited marketplace behaviour
- Fraud, scams and deceptive payment activity.
- Counterfeit, stolen or materially misrepresented products.
- Impersonation and attempts to obtain account credentials.
- Manipulation of reviews, ratings or marketplace records.
- Attempts to bypass security, verification, enforcement or rate controls.
- Harassment, threats, malicious links or other harmful content.
06Reporting and cooperation
Users can report suspicious listings, messages, accounts or communities through the available reporting and Support tools. Provide accurate information and cooperate with reasonable safety reviews.
07Nigerian consumer and data-protection context
Gadget Trade’s marketplace policies are designed to support clear product information, fair dealing, safer transactions and responsible handling of personal information. They operate alongside applicable Nigerian consumer-protection, data-protection and other laws and regulatory requirements.
