Counterfeit & Product Authenticity Policy
Rules for counterfeit, stolen, materially misrepresented and suspicious gadgets and how Gadget Trade handles authenticity concerns.
01Prohibited products
Counterfeit, stolen, unlawfully obtained, materially misrepresented or otherwise prohibited products must not be listed or sold through Gadget Trade. A product must be described honestly enough for a buyer to make an informed decision.
02Seller responsibilities
- Use the correct brand and model information.
- State whether an item is new, used, refurbished or otherwise reconditioned.
- Do not describe a replica, clone or imitation as an original product.
- Provide clear photos and disclose material faults, repairs and relevant accessories.
- Do not alter or remove serial, IMEI or identifying information to conceal the identity of a device.
- Provide supporting information when Gadget Trade reasonably requests it during a safety or authenticity review.
03Buyer checks
Before paying, buyers should compare the listing information with the actual product, inspect identifying details where reasonably possible, check condition and accessories, and ask questions when something does not match. A verification badge or seller rating is a trust signal, not an authenticity guarantee.
04Authenticity concerns and reports
If a buyer suspects a product is counterfeit, stolen or materially misrepresented, the buyer should stop the transaction where possible and report the listing or contact Support. Useful evidence can include photos, serial or IMEI information, packaging, listing screenshots, receipts and messages.
05Review and enforcement
Gadget Trade may pause, remove or restrict a listing or account while an authenticity or ownership concern is reviewed. Serious or repeated violations may lead to account restrictions under the Ban & Suspension Policy.
