Seller Verification Policy
How seller verification works on Gadget Trade, what may be requested, how verification statuses are handled and how private verification information is protected.
01Purpose of seller verification
Seller verification helps Gadget Trade establish additional trust around sellers and support marketplace functions that require a verified seller identity. Verification is one part of marketplace safety; it is not a guarantee that every product, statement or transaction involving a seller is risk-free.
02Information that may be requested
Depending on the verification flow, a seller may be asked for identifying information, contact information or an approved identity document. The exact information requested can change as verification requirements and security controls are updated.
03How verification is reviewed
- 1Submit the requested information through the official Gadget Trade verification flow.
- 2Gadget Trade reviews the submission using the information and checks available to the authorised verification process.
- 3If the submission is incomplete or cannot be confirmed, the seller may be asked to correct or resubmit information.
- 4When the verification requirements are satisfied, the seller can receive the applicable verified status.
04Verification statuses
- Not Verified — the seller does not currently have an approved verification status.
- Pending — a verification submission is awaiting review.
- Verified — the required verification process has been approved.
- Rejected — the submission did not satisfy the verification requirements.
- Resubmission Required — additional or corrected information is needed.
05Protection of verification information
Verification documents and private identity information are not intended for public display on profiles, listings or reviews. Access should be limited to authorised processes and service providers that need the information to perform the verification or related security operation.
06Seller responsibilities
- Provide accurate information that belongs to you or that you are authorised to submit.
- Do not submit altered, misleading or another person’s documents.
- Keep account information current when it changes.
- Do not attempt to transfer, sell or falsely display another seller’s verification status.
07Verified seller indicator
A verified indicator is applied by Gadget Trade after the relevant verification process is approved. Sellers should not reproduce or edit the badge to make an unverified account appear verified.
08Reverification and status changes
Gadget Trade may request a new verification or review an existing status when account information changes, a security concern is identified, information becomes unreliable, or marketplace requirements change.
09Questions and support
For verification questions, use the official Gadget Trade support channels. Do not send passwords, one-time authentication codes, card PINs or other secrets as part of a verification request.
