1. Estimate, not guaranteed buyout

Nova Price Intelligence provides a marketplace estimate from available product and market information. An estimate is not a legally binding purchase offer and does not automatically create a Gadget Trade buyback obligation.

2. Valuation signals
  • Brand, model and product variant.
  • Storage and configuration.
  • Condition and standardized grade where available.
  • Eligible current marketplace observations.
  • Location and availability signals where relevant.
  • Freshness and reliability of the underlying data.
3. Data freshness and decay

Market information becomes less representative as it ages. Nova should weight recent eligible observations more heavily and reduce the influence of stale listings. An unchanged old listing should not automatically be treated as equivalent to a newly observed market transaction.

4. Condition and verification

Two devices with the same model can have different values because of condition, repairs, battery health, accessories, authenticity and other factors. Nova estimates should therefore be interpreted together with the listing’s condition and available verification information.

5. Uncertainty

When eligible market data is sparse, inconsistent or stale, Nova may produce a broader estimate or explain that confidence is limited. A single number should not be interpreted as a guaranteed resale price.

6. Commercial buyback offers

A participating Gadget Trade or merchant buyback programme can make a separate commercial offer after reviewing the device and transaction requirements. That offer is distinct from Nova’s informational estimate.

7. Scope and application

This policy applies to the Gadget Trade marketplace features and transactions to which the policy is relevant. It should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, marketplace safety rules, payment and dispute policies, and any listing-specific information shown at the time of a transaction.

8. Records and evidence

Where a workflow creates order, listing, payment, verification, delivery or communication records, those records may be used to understand what happened and to resolve a support request or dispute. Users should keep relevant receipts, photographs, messages, tracking information and other evidence until the matter is resolved.

9. User responsibility

Users are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping account credentials secure, reviewing important order details before confirming a transaction and promptly reporting material problems through the official Gadget Trade support channels.

10. Policy updates

Gadget Trade may update this policy when marketplace workflows, security requirements, payment processes, delivery arrangements or applicable requirements change. The current version published on Gadget Trade is the version that applies to new activity after publication.
